According to Boris Johnson’s roadmap of recovery, it hopefully won’t be too long until static caravan parks can reopen. If the government manages to stick to its proposed schedule, the Stay at Home order will end from 29th March, allowing people to travel within the country. This is shortly followed by the reopening of self-catered holidays in England from 12th April (fingers crossed), which includes campsites and static caravan parks.
A renewed focus on caravan parks
Hotels, B&Bs and hostels won’t reopen until 17th May at the very earliest. The same goes for international travel, and that’s only if the infection rate remains under control through the swift distribution of the vaccine. This means there’s a high chance of Brits choosing self-catered staycations at static caravan parks during April and early May in particular.
Prepare for a surge
In the event that the 17th May date for other accommodation is postponed, caravan holiday parks will see even more people placing a booking during late spring and early summer. Even if everything does go according to plan, there will still be a lot of people who choose not to travel abroad for a while, further increasing the popularity of holiday sites here in the UK.
Whatever the case, caravan parks are due a huge boost in popularity, which could result in you taking far more bookings than usual for April onwards.
